Abreviaturas y Acrónimos


  • ABArcane Brotherhood - Una facción elegible en el Valle del Viento Helado (Icewind dale), que condiciona las misiones y el PVP disponible en esa zona.
  • ADAstral Diamonds, la moneda principal en Neverwinter. 
  • AFAIK – abreviatura inglesa para la expresión 'as far as I know' (más o menos traducido como: "por lo que sé")
  • AFK – ‘Away From Keyboard’, (lejos del teclado) expresión que indica que el jugador no está presente frente a su ordenador, o que podría estar roncando alegremente, babeando el teclado
  • Auction house, "Casa de Subasta", el mercado de los jugadores en el que se intercambian objetos que se pueden adquirir por AD (diamantes astrales).
  • AI - Acquisitions Incorporated. Una campaña algo anodina introducida con el módulo 15.
  • ArPen - Armor penetration. Una habilidad desaparecida con la introducción del nuevo sistema de combate, con el módulo 20 a principios de 2021.
  • BHE - Big Heroic Encounter, (Gran Encuentro Heróico) término empleado para indicar los encuentros heróicos más dificiles y habitualmente, mejor recompensados, en numerosas zonas.
  • BISBest in slot. ("Mejor en el hueco") Hace referencia al que en el momento se considera el mejor objeto (equipo, encantamiento, insignia, artefacto...) que se pueda equipar en un determinado espacio en la ficha de personaje.
  • CA - Combat Advantage - Una estadística principal, junto con el Power, que modifica el daño causado a los oponentes.
  • CD - coldown, ("refresco o enfriamiento"). Un periodo de tiempo que ha de transcurrir antes de que una determinada habilidad o poder pueda volver a ser reutilizado.
  • CN - Castle Never, una mazmorra (dungeon) implementado con el módulo 9.
  • Coal - Abreviatura normalmente referida a las 'coalescent ward', un consumible (objeto de un solo uso) empleado en refinamiento, que garantiza un 100% de éxito en el intento de mejora de encantamientos o artefactos. Tras la mejora del objeto en el que se use.
  • CODG or Cradle - Cradle of the Death God, una mazmorra de la campaña de Chult incluida en el módulo 13.
  • CRCastle Ravenloft. Mazmorra gótica que ambienta el castillo del vampiro Lord Stradht, Señor de Ravenloft. Se introdujo en una actualización al módulo 14 de Barovia.
  • CW - Control Wizard, una de las especializaciones del Mago (Wizard)
  • DC - Devoted cleric, una de las especializaciones del clérigo.
  • Demo - Demogorgon, Trial de la campaña de Underdark en la que una raid de jugadores (10 jugadores) ha de enfrentarse al terrible demonio (no tan terrible así como esta trial pertenece a un módulo antiguo en el que el poder de Demogorgon se ha devaluado. Dispone de dos cofres en la recompensa final, de los que al menos uno de ellos no requiere llave.
  • Devs - Developers, (desarrolladores) El equipo de desarrollo y gestión o administración del juego.
  • DR - Dread Ring, campaña y área basada en la misma. Una jugosa fuente de ingresos si se farmean sus Lairs (moradas) durante un evento de doble recompensa a las piedras de refinamiento.
  • DV - Dwarven Valley, área asociada con la campaña de Icewind Dale. Se desbloquea tras alcanzar un cierto avance en ella.
  • ECExplorer’s Case. Un objeto de misión que se puede adquirir del mercader generalista de la fortaleza de la Cofradía (Guild Stronghold). El explorer's case facilita una misión que permite recoger materiales de profesiones de 6 nodos o vetas que se pueden prospectar en una zona determinada que se indica en el propio objeto.
  • ECC - Epic Cragmyre Cypt, an advanced dungeon, now officially named 'Cragmyre Crypt (master)' but the old abbreviation persists.
  • EDemo - Epic Demogorgon, an advanced dungeon now officially 'Demogorgon (master)' but the old abbreviation persists.
  • EE - Elemental Evil, a campaign originally from mod 6. Also refers to Evidence of Evil, a currency from mod 11.
  • EQ - equipment.
  • ETOS - Epic Temple of the Spider, now officially 'Temple of the Spider (master)' but the old abbreviation persists.
  • ESVA - See MSVA. Rarely used as the E terminology has changed to M for new content.
  • Exp - experience, the in game stat related to leveling, or a statement that a player is familiar with the given content
  • FE - Fragment Expedition. (Availables through Stardock in the Uprising mod content)
  • FF - Forgemaster's Flame, a DC encounter power.
  • Folly - Merchant Prince's Folly, a skirmish added in mod 12b. Also MPF.
  • FYI – For your info.
  • GF - Guardian Fighter, a NW player class.
  • GG - Good Group, often a compliment give after a good run.
  • Guantlgrym, Also a PVE area, but mostly refers to 'GG Battlegrounds' a pvp battle event.
  • GL - Game Life. Opposite of RL.
  • GS - Gear Score. Not officially in use since Mod 6, when the game switched to the newer IL system.
  • GMGuild Mark. Guild currency acquirable through donation to the SH mimic.
  • GMOP - Greater mark of Potency, a refinement item that is commonly bought.
  • GMT - Greenwich Mean Time, a standard for time zones, now officially superceded by UTC.
  • GWD - Grey Wolf Den, a name that could refer to either the early or advanced (master) version of that dungeon.
  • GWF - Great Weapons Fighter, a NW player dps class.
  • HE - Heroic encounter, special fights with additional prizes
  • HG, Hallowed Ground, a DC daily power.
  • HOC - House of Crocodile. A chultan weekly mision.
  • HR - Hunter Ranger, a NW player class.
  • Hunters - One of our top alliance's Guilds (level 20) and where more often are started the Marauders' event. (See also Hunters).
  • ICD - Internal Cooldown. A timer, hidden from player view, that determines how long until a power repeats.
  • IG - Illusionist's Gambit. Skirmish from mod 11.
  • IIRC - "If I recall correctly".
  • IL - Item Level, a generic measure of power from all the items wearable by a player.
  • IRL - In Real Life.
  • IWD - Icewind Dale, a campaign from mod 3 and an area associated with it.
  • K-Team. A special hardcore weekly dungeon from the Acquisitions Incorporated campaign, that changes to a different dungeon every week.
  • Kellogs - A slang humouristic reference to the K-Team weekly mision.
  • LF - "looking for", may be seen as LFG (looking for group), lf4m (looking for 4 more), etc.
    • LFG - "looking for group" (as in LFG ndemo: "looking for group to Demogorgon")
    • LFM - "looking for member/s" (as in LFM Ndemo "lookin for members to join normal Demogorgon")
    • LF1M, LF2M, etc. - "Looking for 1 member, 2 members, etc."
  • LT - "looking to..."
  • LTT - "Looking to trade" (as in LTT 1 SMOP x... "looking to trade 1 superior mark of potency for...)
  • LOL - Laugh out Loud. A short way to show laughter in text.
  • LW - Lonely Wood, an area associated with the Storm King's Thunder campaign (Mod 10).
  • MC - Malabog's Castle, a mid-level dungeon, though hard for its listed IL OR rarely 'master craft', a high level profession set.
  • ME - Master Expedition. High rewarding dailies for level 80 characters. This is necessary to complete the Undermountain Campaign chain to unlock them.
  • ME (old) Maze Engine, an area and campaign introduced in mod 9
  • Mob - a term that predates mmos, short for mobile. Refers to monsters and other NPCs in a game.
  • MOD - short for module. NW has major updates that are numbered and can include new areas, classes, powers, and other changes.
  • MOF - master of flame, a type of cw.
  • MOH - Master of the Hunt a small skirmish area
  • MPF - Merchant Prince's Folly, a skirmish added in mod 12b. Also called as Folly.
  • MSVA - Master SVA, a harder version of the SVA dungeon, added in mod 10.5
  • MW - Master Works. An advanced level of crafting that can be worked on after reaching level 25 in professions.
  • NDemo - Normal Demogorgon (See Demo)
  • NPC - Non Player Character. All the beings in a game not controlled by a human player.
  • NSVA - Normal SVA, a easier version of the SVA dungeon, added in mod 10.5
  • NW - Neverwinter
  • OP - Oathbound Paladin, a NW player class.
  • o/ & o7- A salutation emote. Simulates a head and a thumbs up.
  • PC – Commonly referred to a Player Character, but also to Personal Computer, as one of the game’s platforms.
  • PE - Protector's Enclave, the central player area, and a section of Neverwinter city.
  • POM - Prophecy of Madness - Demonic Skirmish, part of the Underdark campaign of mod 8.
  • PUG/PUGGING - Pick Up Group, a group of random players, and the act of playing content with them
  • PVE - Player vs Environment (opposite of PVP)
  • PVP - Player vs Player (fighting other players, opposite of PVE)
  • RAD - Rough Astral Diamonds - a prize for some activities, requires an additional refinement step to turn it as AD available to spend.
  • RAQ/REQ/RIQ - Random Advanced/Intermediate/Expert Queue - different selections of dungeons that a player can queue for.
  • RD - River District. The area associated with Mod 11.
  • RED - Random Epic Dungeon, one of the selections one can make with the random queue.
  • RL - Real life. That which we attempt to escape by heading into GL.
  • RoE - Ray of Enfeeblement, a CW encounter power.
  • ROFL - Roll on the Floor Laughing. As it might seem, a slightly stronger version of LOL.
  • RPRefinement Points. A very important resource obtainable through "shattering" or refining magic items, runestones, gems and enchantments into a special magic dust exclusively used to upgrade artifacts and other enchantments.
  • SES - Superior Enchanting Stone. A refinement resource needed in superior artifacts and enchantments upgrades.
  • SH - Stronghold, the home area of a guild
  • SHE or SH HEs - Stronghold heroic encounter, HEs done in the stronghold for specific prizes
  • SMOP - Superior Mark of Potency, an epic quality refinement item that is commonly bought.
  • SOT - Shore of Tuern - a mid to high level skirmish
  • SKT - Storm Kings Thunder a campaign from (Mod 10)
  • SOMI - Sea of Moving Ice, an area from (mod 10.5)
  • SS - depending on context could have many meanings. Some could be Spell Storm a type of CW, or Sudden Storm a CW encounter power.
  • SVA - Svardborg, a dungeon area added in mod 10.5. See MSVA.
  • SW - Scourge warlock, a NW player class.
  • TI - Terrifying Insight, a dc passive power.
  • TIA - Tiamat, a high level skirmish, the pinnacle of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign.
  • TLDR; - Abbreviation for 'too long, didn’t read;' Whatever follows is normally a shortened version of a long story.
  • TOD - Tyranny of Dragons, a campaign from mod 4. Also rarely refers to TODG.
  • TODG or 'Throne', Throne of the Dwarven Gods. Skirmish from the Underdark campaign of mod 8.
  • TONG, TO9G or T9G - Tomb of the Nine Gods, a dungeon added in mod 12.
  • TOS - Temple of the spider, a dungeon.
  • TR - Trickster Rogue, a NW player class.
  • TT - A faction choice in Icewind dale used in open world PVP
  • Trial - A 10 man queued activity, like a skirmish.
  • UES - Ultimate Enchanting Stone. A top refinement resource of legendary quality, required for major upgrades of artifacts and enchantments.
  • UMOPS - Ultimate Mark of potency. A top refinement resource of legendary quality, required for major upgrades of artifacts and enchantments.
  • VT - Valindra's Tower, a mid to high level dungeon, though hard for its listed IL requirement.
  • WC - Wrong Channel, reporting that your nonsensical statement was meant for someone else.
  • WE - Wanderer Expedition.  Similares a las ME (master Expedition) y disponibles en Stardock, de la campaña Uprising lanzada como continuación a Bajomontaña (Undermountain).
  • WTB - "Want to buy". Expresión empleada en el canal de comercio (trade channel) para indicar a otros jugadores que deseas comprar algo.
  • WTT - "Want to trade" Expresión empleada en el canal de comercio (trade channel) para indicar a otros jugadores que deseas trocar o intercambiar algo.
  • WOD - Well of Dragons, ("Pozo de Dragones"). Área asociada a la campaña de Tyranny of Dragons ("Tiranía de Dragones").
  • YH - Yester Hill - un Gran Encuentro Heroico (BHE) de la campaña de Barovia.
  • Zen - Moneda Premium del juego, que puedes adquirir con dionero real o mediante intercambio por AD a través de la opción de intercambio disponible en la primera "z" del menú superior.
