Introduction

Welcome to Neverwinter. You came here in seek of entertainment and evasion time, to enjoy exploring the fantastic and magical Forgotten Realms, to defeat monsters and become a hero (or a villain!).

Keeping in mind that basis, if you came to this guide, probably you are a newcomer to Neverwinter and you want to find out the best way to become stronger, and do it now! Well, everyone wants a fast road to glory, but while there is certainly a quick road to rush leveling up (chapter 1), and advices to improve your efficiency, there is a first advice for you:

Enjoy your first steps on Neverwinter at your pace.

And do it by taking your time to relaxingly explore the areas, to get immersed in the lore and backgrounds, to learn the basics through the tutorial, and to let the environment trap you as a new and consolidated new inhabitant of the Forgotten Realms!

In sum: enjoy your gaming time at your pace, because there will be too much to learn and this first contact with the game through your first character can really change your gaming experience.

If you preferred to rush directly towards the end game bypassing the tutorial and basic steps, you may be missing some of the content and taste of this game.

Said this, in the first chapter: Leveling, I will give you some clues and tips to do the opposite: rush towards the top level in the most efficient ways.

Choose yourself your path, but please, enjoy!

MOUNTS

(In progress)

The mounts don't only provide a higher speed (when using them), but also a permanent boost to your character skills through the insignias that can be allocated in those mounts you set in your stable.

Insignias work like the enchantments, but cannot be upgraded.
They come in three different quality ranks: Standard (Green); Rare (Blue) and Epic (purple), the higher the quality, the higher the skill powers they will give you and the IL raised.

Rare or better mounts can equip up to three (3.-) insignias. Standard mounts can only equip two (2.-).

Also, by assigning the right insignias, you will activate some available mount powers, already listed in your mount when trying to equip insignias.

Rare, Epic and Legendary Mounts can provide with additional boosts to your character. From all the mounts in your stable, you will be able to select one of them, as a permanent boost.

Legendary mounts have also special attack powers, that will require activation to trigger. Those have to be selected in your mount section as son as you owned a legendary mount.

Keep completing all the seasonal events that may provide an epic mount. Some of them have great bonus powers as wandering travellers, which provide random drop of RP gems from the slayed foes.

As you get a better quality mount, remember to update the mount speed you had selected.

Standard (green) mounts offer a +50% speed.

Rare (blue) mounts offer +80% speed.

Epic (purple) mounts offer +110% speed.

Legendary (orange) mounts offer +140% speed.

Mythic (light blue) mounts (Rumoured with mod 16. ?% speed and what else)

LEVELING

Neverwinter is a friendly game leveling wise. There are many ways to quickly level up from 1 to 80 in few days/weeks. Although this is advisable to take your time to enjoy the history and background, this document will give you some key ways to faster level up.

Once you became level 80, the Big Grind will start.
Leveling Summary:

1. Story Line and Tutorial.

2. Invocation.

3. Acquisitions Incorporated Missions.
4. Guild Membership & Cleric Daily Quests.
5. Random leveling Queues
6. Azure Enchantments.
7. Areas and Campaigns.
8. VIP features.

Methods explained:

1. Story Line and Tutorial. (From the start to level ~20)

This is recommended to complete the tutorial missions given by Sergeant Knox, as this way you will unlock early several needed features and access to the different areas in game.

2. Invocation. (From level 9+)
Once you completed the tutorial quest at the Shrine of the Gods in Protector’s Enclave (PE), you can start invoking (praying) to your God at a campfire or portable altar. This will provide you with some experience, RAD bonus and other goods. Up to six daily invocations are available through an increased cool down timing for up to 4 hours. This is advisable to use all of them if you are online time enough, every day.

To unlock invocation, you will need to become level 9, pick the quest given by the npc Sergeant Knox and talk with the npc Aralynn the Pious in Protector Enclave.

3. Acquisitions Incorporated missions. (From level 12+)

Although these quests can be tedious and slightly preposterous, will be a great support to your leveling up, as well as an opportunity to early progress the campaign and unlock the AI's boons. The basement quest takes 2 to 5 minutes to complete and offers a nice experience reward. basement can be repeated every hour.

4. Guild Membership.
As son as it may possible, join a Guild.

As a member of a Guild, you can get a great advantage through different features, such:
  • Stronghold Missions. Make sure you complete them to unlock the Cleric daily missions (available at level 20 or 21), which will highly reward with experience after the completion of your first random queue, as well as completing some specific dungeon. Other Stronghold quests are also a good resource of experience, although those given by the Cleric are the best by far.
  • Guild Boons (Hot key “c”>> Tab Boons>> Stronghold): As soon as you become a member of a Guild, you can immediately activate the boons provided by your guild. Those will not only help you in your adventures, but also there is a boon to increase the experience received, which is totally recommended while you complete your leveling up.
  • Slaying SH bears. The Stronghold Bears are one of the most experience rewarding beasts. There is a hot spot near the Beasts SH He, located in the Eastern-Central area of the Stronghold Map. Hunt them for the last levels is a fast option, although it cn be boring once you slaughted your 100th bear...

5. Random leveling Queues

Hot key “k”>> Tab “random”>>Random Queue: Leveling

Join every day at least the first random, as you receive a bonus of Rough Astral Diamonds (RAD) and Experience (exp). Repeating these random will reduce the reward after the first one, but still  a good resource of early RAD and exp.

6. Azure Enchantments.

You can acquire Azure Enchantments in the Market, through the use of Seals of Adventurer (100 seals per each rank 5 enchant), or acquire higher ranks through the Auction House (AH).

Equip the Azures in the utility slots provided by gear such:
  • Head
  • Arms
  • Feet
  • Neck
  • Belt
This is not needed to update those items yet until you became level 70/80, so you don’t needed to continually replace the enchantments into new gear, which could require a lot of gold spent in the process.

  • Azure Enchantment, Rank 5: +8% experience per slot.
  • Azure Enchantment, Rank 6: +10% experience per slot.
  • Azure Enchantment, Rank 7: +11% experience per slot.
  • Azure Enchantment, Rank 8: +12% experience per slot.
This is not recommended to get better ranks as for its expensive cost, unless you had already loads of AD to expend and an army of alts awaiting for leveling, then you could acquire a set of 5 high ranked azure enchantments to equip successively in each alt as you completed its leveling to 80.

Once you became as level 80, this is advised to use different enchantments in your utility slots, as you may want to get other enchantments for other abilities or for refinement dropped gems and enchantments for refinement points (quartermaster and other enchantments), although experience boost still valuable for the RAD & RP reward everytime you get enough overlapped experiencie.

7. Areas and Campaigns.

As you made the different new areas and campaigns, go to those that were 2 levels above your current, as you will earn higher experience.

At level 70, join as son as posible the Undermountain Campaign. You Will easily progress through its completion in a couple days and becoming level 80 at its conclusion.

8. VIP features.
Among the many advantages provided by the totally recommended VIP status, you can get a 10% additional experience bonus.
